My Passions
I am, as you may have guessed, Giles Davis.
God has given me a deep passion for teens today because I believe that they ARE the church of today, not tomorrow. They are the world changers, now. Their passion and fire excites me as I minister with them and ignites me as I see all that God is doing in young people around this country. Virtually every great revival throughout the history of the church has started with young people and I love being in the middle of that. I feel fortunate that God has given me the gift of being able to connect with teens and mobilize them for His army. I plan to stay involved in ministry to youth as long as God allows and wherever I go, which brings me to my other great passion: missions.
I strongly believe that unless the Lord tells someone to stay, that they need to go. Because of this, my family and I are currently raising support with the missions organization Send International to go to Spain and serve teens.
My Tools
My tools are humor, passion, and most importantly, truth from God's word. I use humor to keep people's attention, break down walls and to make God's truth stick in their heads. I use passion to open their eyes to see how crucial God's truth is. I use truth from God's word because it is alive and active and sharper than a double edged sword. It's what they need most. My purpose is to be a tool myself for God to wield in His mighty hand as He raises up an army for Himself.
My Background
I have been involved in youth ministry for the past 13 years. I was a part-time youth pastor for 3 years, have been a full-time youth pastor for 8 years, and have been traveling and speaking for the past 6 years. In the past, I was mentored by Greg Speck, a nationally known youth speaker and now a great friend.
I graduated from Wheaton College where I received both a B.A. in Bible and Philosophy and a Masters in Educational Ministries.
I am married to a beautiful woman of God, Debbie. We have 4 children (oldest to youngest): Micah, Nathan, Rebekah and Jacob.
